Whitby Vodka - The Wyrmfyre Edition

Every seven years, the Whitby Wyrm rises from the sea, its legend cloaked in fog and fire. This year, its spirit has been captured in our Gothic Edition vodka — distilled in small batches with wild heather, sea buckthorn berries, coastal bladderwrack, fresh thyme, lemon verbena and finished with a delicate touch of Whitby sea salt.

The result is a vodka that is fiery yet refined, smooth yet untamed — a spirit as restless as the North Sea itself.

• • Nose: Heather and meadowsweet, lifted by thyme and lemon verbena, with a breath of sea air.
  • Palate: Rounded and velvety — bladderwrack and orris add savoury depth, balanced by citrus from sea buckthorn and sharpened by angelica root, finished with Whitby sea salt.
  • Finish: Smooth, lingering, and delicately saline.

  • Inspiration: Inspired by the legend of the Whitby Wyrm — the dragon said to have been disturbed when the Abbey was built. It flew out to sea, only to return every seven years. We’re marking our 7th birthday with this release: a vodka that carries the fiery breath of the Wyrm and the cool salinity of the North Sea.

• Over ice, stirred. Garnish with a charred lemon twist for fiery flair, or a black olive for a dark, gothic finish.
